The Pocket PC is a hand held device which is run using Windows CE operating system. This hand-held computer is manufactured by many companies. Important manufacturers of the Pocket PC include HP, Toshiba, Acer, ASUS, Dell, Fujitsu Siemens, HTC, and ViewSonic.

Companies such as O2, T-Mobile and Orange are brining out Pocket Pc devices which can integrate with mobile phone technology. In order to a user o operate this device they have to use a SIM card. Examples of such devices are O2’s XDA, or T-Mobile’s MDA Compact.

Pcoket PC device which come with built-in telephony are quire different from Windows Mobile Smartphone Edition devices. One such difference is that they do not have a touch screen. Examples of such Pocket PCs with GPS integration includes Fujitsu Siemens Pocket Loox N560, the HTC TyTN, HP iPAQ hw6515, Orange SPV M5000, T-mobile MDA Pro, Vodafone VPA IV, O2 XDA Exec, i-Mate JasJar and Dopod 900.

About 80% of all phone enabled Windows Mobile devices is manufactured by HTC. It also manufactures non-phone enabled Pocket PCs for companies such as Dell, HP and Fujitsu Siemens. Recently they have announced their intention to market Pocket PCs and Smartphones under their own brand.
